Avro Lancaster B.Mk.III

Hasegawa's 1/72 scale Lancaster B.Mk.I / B.Mk.III is available online from Squadron

Description

Here is my 1/72 scale Hasegawa Lancaster, "Piccadilly Princess"

I obtained the gold prize with this work in Master Class of JMC contest in 2006 (Joyful Modelers Convention with Hasegawa), and was promoted to Grand-Master Class.

The main modifications were as follows.

  • I scratch built two engines by myself from Evergreen plastic strip and thin lines of solder.

  • I added various self-made parts to the inside of fuselage & turrets

  • On the surface, I thinned the panel lines, reproduced the difference of the panel seams of the panel by building up super glue

  • Rivets were added using Hasegawa's etching saw

  • Transparent areas were replaced with self-made parts.

  • Nose-art and all marks are done by painting.

  • The flaps remodeled it in the lowered state.

I did not use after-market parts at all.
