Steel cable can come in very handy for the modeller, it’s most obvious use being on armoured vehicles.

With this in mind, MDC have provided the modeler with 4 flavours of wire, each consisting of seven strands.

The dimensions are as follows:

  • MDCDT01      7 strand cable, 0.60mm, 1m length

  • MDCDT01      7 strand cable, 0.90mm, 1m length

  • MDCDT01      7 strand cable, 1.00mm, 0.5m length

  • MDCDT01      7 strand cable, 1.30mm, 0.5m length

The cable is very flexible thus increasing its usefulness when creating a tight radius.

One thing the modeler has to keep in mind though is that it constantly wants to spring back to its original shape…which is a straight line. So make sure any sudden changes of direction are securely anchored.

With the variety of sizes available, its use is limited only by your imagination.

Thanks to MDC for the sample.
