Advantages: Good selection of aircraft types, especially the night fighters; The Wellington decals correct the Trumpeter supplied decals; thin carrier film; excellent colours
Disadvantages: Anson is a limited release kit, and may be hard to find soon.
Recommendation: Highly Recommended

K4/17 Kits at War series – RAF Wellingtons and Ansons

Three (3) Wellingtons and two (2) Ansons

  • Wellington Ia N2895 AA-L 75 (New Zealand) Sqn RAF Stradishall;
  • Wellington Mk Ic P9248 OJ-D 149 Sqn Mildenhall.
  • Wellington Mk Ic X9873 KO-P 115 Sqn `The Saint' Marham 1941;
  • Anson I N5314 UA-M 269 Sqn 1939 - Coastal Command
  • Anson I N9742/Y 231 Dutch Sqn 1940 - Coastal Command

There have been plenty of comments written in magazines and discussion boards about the incorrect colour of the squadron codes in the Trumpeter Wellington IC. This decal set will allow modellers to replace the red codes from the kit with the correct grey codes. The two Anson schemes are a nice inclusion, especially for a limited release kit.

Plenty of research has gone into these sheets, especially with Hurricane IIb Z3971 SW-S 253 Sqn.

All aircraft squadron codes and colours have been correctly represented with these decal sheets.

With so many different aircraft types represented with this sheet, modellers will have plenty of choice.
