Description

I have been on a Japanese aircraft binge for a long while and needed a break. This is my first attempt at anything Luftwaffe and doing a splinter and mottled camouflage.

I finished Tamiya's 1/48 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 kit in the markings of Uffz. Kurt Wolff of JG52.

This aircraft force landed at Coquelles after combat with Spitfires in late summer of 1940.

The cockpit received the Eduard Color Zoom set, which was very easy to install and looks beautiful.

The kit is well engineered and parts fit is perfect, making for a fast and easy build.

Tamiya acrylics were used throughout, and the model was weathered mainly by airbrush, using highly Tamiya NATO black, and red-brown.

The aftermarket decals are from Meteor Productions, and I had a lot of trouble getting them to conform to the model's surface, as they did not react to Micro Sol or Micro Set. I was afraid to use anything hotter on them, and decided to just live with them as-is.
