Description

Here is my 1/72 scale Fiat G 50 Finnish version with skis from AML.

The Fiat G.50 was the first all-metal single-seat fighter monoplane with a retractable undercarriage produced in Italy.

Finland bought 25 CMASA manufactured G.50s from Italy on 23 Oct, 1939 and 10 more on 31 Jan, 1940. The aircraft were assembled in Malmö, Torslanda and Trollhättan, Sweden. Then they were flown to Finland via Västerås, Sweden. The first arrived on 18 Dec, 1939 and the last by 19 June, 1940.

This is the nice AML kit including resin pieces and photo etched parts in the box. Nevertheless I can assure you that the construction will not be easy. The version has a difficult scheme hand made by me working with paintbrush in the top areas except yellows and varnish. The propeller in the kit cannot move, so I did some modifications to get that the propeller could turn.

The inclination of skis was changed too to achieve the necessary stop position over the snow, differente in flight.

Other scratch builts pieces were the pitots tubes made with hypodermic needles and Venturi tube isn´t include in the box neither. All antens was made with stuck-up plastic.

The pilot was not included. He is a modificated Huma pilot.

Finally I built a little finnish scene with snow.

Best regards from Málaga, Spain to HyperScale's visitors and for all my friends of www.yoryi.com
