Description

This is Heller’s 1/48 scale Mirage IV.

I used the decal set from Syhart No 48004 to finish this Reconnaissence Aircraft. It is a lot of work to deliver a reasonable result. The kit, released in the mid 1970s, doesn’t fit well, has rasied panel lines and poor cockpit detailing.

It is therefore essential to consult good references like Mirage IV: La fin d'un règne (Broché) and some photos in Le Bourget of the real thing.

Details are all made from scratch. I scratchbuilt the cockpit, the avionics bays, the exhaust nozzles, ladders, service carts, towbar, wheelbays, parachute housing, rescribed all panel lines, cut out the control surfaces, intake covers and last but not least the camera.

Figures are modified with repositioned arms and legs.
