Hasegawa 1/72 scale conversion
Grumman TBM-3W

Here is my 1/72 scale "TBM-3W" converted from Hasegawa's TBF/TBF-1C Avenger.

The accompanying photos will describe the conversion and construction of this model.

When I made this, it was an old airplane, and I had a hard time though. I could not see all the details on the dark reference photos, and there are relatively few photographs of this airplane in its brief period of Japanese service.

The biggest challenge was to maintain the strength of the wing fold. It is reinforced with 1.2mm brass rod.
