DMold Modeworks has produced two replacement engine cowlings for Eduard's 1/48 scale Hellcat kits.
The first, item number DM48005, is appropriate for early F6F-3 Hellcats. This cowl features the bulged exhaust fairings on the sides and cowl flaps on the bottom. All flaps, upper and lower, are cast open. This is unique amongst all the available F6F cowl replacements.
The second is DMold item DM48006, an F6F-5 engine cowling. The cowl flaps are also cast in the open positon.
Both cowls are perfectly cast in a single piece and they are supplied ready to use - no cleanup or removal of casting blocks is required.
The shape of the controversial intake "grin" looks good, capturing the very subtle hint of a double bulge.

These will be useful accessories and very simpel to install on Eduard's current and future Hellcat kits.
      Highly Recommended.
