This sheet is the third entry in Afterburner Decals’ journey into the stencil data world of modern military aircraft.

This sheet, 48-027 provides two sets of stencils and data for the McDonnell Douglas F-15 C/D Eagle.

Understandably, there are many designs provided on the sheet but what follows is a brief rundown on the major items.  You get two sets of national insignia one in light grey and the other in dark grey, a series of numerals to make up individual aircraft serial numbers – four sets of 0 to 9, as well as their prefixes – AF 77 through AF 86 (a single pair of each in both light grey and black), ACES II ejection seat stencil markings, ejection seat warning triangles, air to air refuelling markings – one each in light grey, dark grey and black, no-step, no-push and walkway stencils, etc, etc.

There is no indication as to who has printed the decals but they are all in perfect register, are thin, and have an absolute minimum of film surrounding each design.

The placement guide is printed on glossy A-4 sized paper and shows large upper and lower surfaces plan views as well as left and right hand side profiles on the reverse side of the placement guide whilst the back cover shows decal placement for the undercarriage legs and ejector seat.  As with the other two stencil data sheets I have seen from Afterburner Decals, the placement guide is user friendly for those of us who need magnification - each design is printed large on the placement guide with an arrow pointing to where it should be applied so as you get it right!

The placement guide and the decal sheet come packed in a clear plastic zip-loc bag.

The recommended kit is the Hasegawa one.

Like it or not, stencil data is prominent on modern airframes and as such should really be visible on a 1/48 scale model and above.  These sheets from Afterburner Decals have been designed to make the application process as simple as possible.
