Once again, the boys at Model Alliance have produced another fine quality decal sheet depicting the retirement schemes for both the RAF Sepecat Jaguar GR.3 and T.4.  The decals are available in both 1/72 scale MAS-729034 and 1/48 scale MAS-489034.  The decals are recommended for the 1/72 Scale Italeri and the 1/48 Scale Airfix kit with Paragon Conversion set No 48095 respectively.

The decals are superbly printed by Cartograf of Italy and they have good colour saturation and are in perfect register.  As usual with Cartograf decals the carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with their decals in the past has been that the decals have to be handled carefully and snuggle down into the surface detail well.  The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear.

Marco Antonio Ortiz has done a superb job of the artwork.  Two thumbnail size photographs of the aircraft are included in the instruction booklet.

The three schemes provided:

  1. Sepecat Jaguar GR.3A XX119/A1 of 6 Sqn “The Flying Canopeners”, Flown by WGCDR John “JS” Sullivan Based at RAF Conningsby in June 2007.  This aircraft is finished in BS381C:629 Dark Camouflage Grey undersides with BS381C:638 Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces.  The uppersurfaces have an orange and black Leopard scheme painted all over.  The fin is mostly black with all of the Jaguar squadron crests painted on it.

  2. Sepecat Jaguar GR.3A XX725/T of 6 Sqn “The Flying Canopeners”, Flown by FLTLT Matt “Daubs” D’Aubyn at RAF Conningsby in June 2007.  This aircraft is finished in overall FS30279 Desert Sand.

  3. Sepecat Jaguar T.4 of 6 Sqn “The Flying Canopeners”, Flown by SQNLDR Ian “Smithy” Smith and SQNLDR Mark Hodge Based at RAF Conningsby in June 2007.  This aircraft is finished in BS381C:629 Dark Camouflage Grey undersides with BS381C:638 Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces.  The underwing fuel tanks are finished in Black, Red, White and Blue.

Highly Recommended.
