Mike Grant is clearly expanding his decal empire to include modeling accessories.

This all new, and highly decorative, Mike Grant Decals “Hobby-Killing Decals” mug is an accessory that will be a most appreciated asset in the hand of every modeler.  It is a hefty design that can accommodate a maximum of 12 ounces of your favorite liquid.  Best of all, it is easily adaptable to those that use the metric system as it can hold a whopping 350 milliliters.  Think of all the liquid that you could potentially spray across your computer screen when you laugh, guffaw or recoil in horror upon reading another outlandish post on HyperScale.

The handle is no namby-pamby tea cup handle affair.  Not on your three-fingered life it isn’t.  This is one you can really hold onto.  Even after filling with your favorite bourbon or scotch, this will not slip round your fingers as you drift off.  Best of all, being white ceramic, rather than clear glass, no one will know what you have in it!

Modelers should note that the opening is perfectly round and 3 inches in diameter.  It looks nothing like a Hellcat cowling.  Any lips involved are those that one places on the edge of the opening.

For those that are concerned about color accuracy, it is without question that the color on the inside of the mug is the same as on the exterior.  This should reduce a great deal of AMS (Advanced Mug Syndrome).

The whole process of cleaning up after using the mug is easier than cleaning an Aztek airbrush.  This is good news for modelers that are either too lazy or have their significant other clean up after them. The mug is dishwasher and microwave safe.  You cannot say that about the Hasegawa Macchi 202 or 205 in any scale.

However, there is one concern, by pre-printing the smoke ring graphics, Mike Grant Decals yet once again is attempting to kill the hobby.  In this case it is the hobby of painting one’s own coffee mug.  This could eventually result in the decline of ceramics classes across the world.

Conclusion

This is the best mug out there, and I’ve held a few in my time. I can highly recommend the Mike Grant Decals “Hobby-Killing Decals” mug without any second thoughts (or any thoughts at all for that matter).

Recommended.
