Wolfpak Decals has produced a fine quality decal sheet depicting four United States Air Force Aircraft.  The decals are designed for four 1/72 Scale aircraft, an F-4D of the 8th TFW, two F-15As of the 58th TFTW, and an F-102A of the 405th FW.

The decals are superbly printed by the Fantasy Print Shop with good colour saturation and register.  As usual with Fantasy Print Shop decals the carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with Fantasy Print Shop decals in the past has been that the decals have to be handled carefully and they snuggle down into the surface detail well.  The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear.

The instructions also give some good detail on the colours and decal placement for allof the aircraft.

The four schemes provided are as follows:

  1. F-4D Serial No 60-267.  This aircraft was flown by Capt. John Madden when he scored his first two MIG kills on Sept 9 1972.  The aircraft is finished in the standard SAC South East Asia scheme of Green FS34079, Green FS34102, and Tan FS30219 with Grey FS 36622 under surfaces.  The aircraft is fitted with the Combat Tree system which provided the crew with beyond visual range target identification by interrogating the enemy’s IFF system.

  2. F-15A Serial No 73-091 of 555th TFTS, 58TFTW based at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona in 1974.  The aircraft is finished in the Air Superiority Blue Scheme of Gloss Blue FS15450 and Lusterless Blue FS34450.

  3. F-15A Serial No 73-100 of 555th TFTS, 58TFTW based at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona in 1975.  The aircraft is finished in the Compass Ghost Grey Scheme of Dark Gray FS36320 and Light Gray FS36375.

  4. F-102A Serial No 55-436 of 509th FIS, 405th FW based at Udorn Air Force Base, in 1969.  This aircraft was the Wing Commander’s (Col E. p. McNeff) aircraft and is finished in the standard SAC South East Asia scheme of Green FS34079, Green FS34102, and Tan FS30219 with Grey FS 36622 under surfaces.
