1/32 F-80C Shooting Star Sneak Peek
Squadron has sent the following information and images of the latest release from Czech Model, a 1/32 scale F-80C Shooting Star, available now from Squadron for USD$71.96:
The Lockheed-built Shooting Star was the first American production aircraft to exceed 500 mph in level flight, the first fully operational American jet airplane manufactured in quantity and the first USAF jet used in combat. An F-80C is officially credited with the first jet vs. jet aerial victory and the type led the US Air Force into the jet age.
Czech Model has released a 1/32 scale limited-run F-80C Shooting Star featuring an injection-molded airframe with fine engraved panel lines, 2-piece canopy and a detailed cockpit. The kit also offers resin details (including wheels and ejection seat) and photo-etch parts (including color instrument panel).
Decals are supplied for 3 USAF aircraft:
F-80C-10-LO 49-650 ‘SAGGIN DRAGON’, 16th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing, Suwon, Korea, March 1951;
