Description

Here is my 1/48 scale Tamiya Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9.

This model represents "Blue 12", a well known aircraft since its pilot surrendered in May 1945 and many pictures were taken, including one in color.

I used the Japo book color profiles as reference. In my opinion this is the best interpretation based on the available pictures.

Regarding the kit, although Eduard's kits are probably more accurate, the Tamiya kit, helped here with a full set of resin parts and photoetched harnesses from MDC, can still give good results with some efforts.

The MDC kit fits well although I wasn't able to use the engine cowling, definitly too small and deformed.

The model was painted with Gunze-Sangyo acrylics and EagleCals decals were used.
