Dragon's 1/48 scale Bf 110 D-3 is available online from Squadron

Description

Here are some shots of my latest build: Dragon's 1/48 Messerschmitt Bf 110 D-3 portrayed as a D-0/B.

Added aftermarket items were the Eduard interior detail set and a set of Quickboost replacement exhausts. Quite honestly, the model builds amazingly well right out of the box! The only correction I made was to sand down the cockpit interior side walls at the top, since they did not sit flush with the fuselage side walls. Other than that, I added some invisible nylon thread for the antenna, wire for the loop and clothesline antenna at the bottom, and replicated the overly complex gear door retraction mechanism with various lengths of wire.

The plane represents the mount of Hptm. Martin Lutz, Gruppenkommandeur of Erprobungsgruppe 210 during the Battle of Britain. According to John Vasco and Fernando Estanislau book, "Messerschmitt Bf 110C, D, & E: An Illustrated Study," the designation of the Bf 110 D-3 was identical to that for the D-0/B.

Decals were sourced from Kagero Topcolors #16: Battle of Britain Part II. This was definitely an absolute joy to build!
