World War modellers are well aware of the various factory logos that adorn their carefully assembled replicas. But what if those adornments were available as 1:1 scale decals?

Well…Wingnut Wings have done precisely that. These items were designed specifically for full sized reproduction aircraft but would sit equally as well on a display base, in a modelling cabinet, or even adhering to the back window of your car.

As expected, all are beautiful copies of the originals.

As with all decals, there are a few golden “rules” that should be followed for successful application.

  1. Make sure that the receiving surface is highly glossed.

  2. Soak the decal in COLD water without letting it float of the backing paper (30 – 60 seconds)

  3. Smooth out air bubbles with a soft cloth.

  4. Let the decal dry thoroughly (at least 24 hours).

  5. Apply a protective coat of vanish or your favourite clear coating. Test on a spare piece of decal to ensure that there are no unexpected reactions.

Of course you can always collect these without removing them from their backing paper.

Either way, they will provide a very interesting addition to your WWI collection.

Thanks to Wingnut Wings for the sample
