Very good quality, excellent range of paint cross-references.

None apparent.

This decal package appears to be well researched, with thorough attention to detail, and are produced to the highest standards. It covers a very specific choice of schemes that will be welcomed by fans of WW2 Yugoslav subjects, or perhaps Spitfire buffs who wish to have and interesting variation on RAF markings - Recommended.

The Antonov An-2 is a somewhat lumbering design that serves as a great canvas for a variety of interesting and colourful finishes, and the decals reviewed here reflect this. They are focussed on aircraft operated by various former Yugoslav states as well as Yugoslavia itself.

The decals and their instructions come in an A-5 plastic zip-lock bag along with a long fold out sheet that provides eight A-5 sized glossy colour pages. Each of the six subjects is covered by a coloured four-view painting & markings guide that details the aircraft’s unit and base location at the time the scheme applies to.

The guides are very nicely produced, and clearly indicate decal locations. Paint colours at first appear to be generically described, but when the colour key is related to the paint chart on the last page of the instructions they are cross-referenced to FS-595 & RAL codes, as well as a most helpful listing of paint numbers for the Revell, Humbrol, Model Master, Tamiya, Vallejo MC, and Vallejo AC paint ranges.

The decals look well printed with good colour density and registration.

The six colour schemes offered are:

  • No. 027, 16th Transport Air Base - Vrazhdebna, Bulgarian Air Force, Vrazhdebna AB, 2009.

  • c/n 1G17104, No. 70374, Yugoslav Air Force, 1991.

  • No. 70373, Serbian Air Force, Batajnica AB, 2008.

  • No. 150, 501st Parachute Diversion Detachment, Macedonian Air Force, Petrovec AB, 2003.

  • (Shijiazhuang Y-5) No. 34, 4050 Regiment, Albanian Air Force, Tirana AB, 2006.

  • No. 5 (c/n 1G167-05 ex YU-BKA), Croatian Air Force, SZV Osijek, 1992.
