Description

Kit: Fujimi
Scale: 1/48
Designation: Bf 109 G10/R2
Unit: 2. NAG14,
Location: Fürth (Bavaria) May 1945

I used the Fujimi Kit J-9 which includes the camera windows for the Bf 109 G-10/R2 as well as for the Bf 109 G8 photo recon aircraft.

Apart from the SBS Resin cockpit which is originally designed for the Hasegawa kit, Quickboost exhausts and tires as well as scratch built hydraulic tubes and hoses for the brakes it is built out of the box. The build itself was without problems.

I used the markings of 5F+12 which is a very famous plane because color photos of both fuselage sides exist.
Painting was done according to these photos. They show for example the overspray of the fuselage band and the red marked main landing gaers indicating an engine that needs 100 octane fuel.

For painting I used vallejo modell air for the first time and x-tra color for the fuselage band and the yellow nose.
