Review Type:

First Look.

Advantages:

High quality production, good clear instructions.

Disadvantages:

None apparent.

Conclusion:

These are very good sets to enhance the detail and ease the painting of AZ Model’s series of Bf 109G kits. I can see some opting to forego the replacement radiator flaps however.  The production quality is very good, and the supporting instructions very clear and comprehensive – Highly recommended.

Resin Improvement has quite an extensive range of detail and conversion parts in resin and both coloured and plain PE; they also offer and pre-cut paint masks. Their PE products are to be manufactured by Eduard, so the quality is automatically good. I assume Eduard is behind the paint masks and resin as well, as their quality is excellent too.

They sets reviewed here come in a zip-lock plastic bag with card header. The PE sets has comprehensive and well-drawn diagrammatic instructions. I will not attempt to list or describe the numerous contents in detail, but instead let the scans of their instructions and the PE fret and masks themselves do most of the talking.

I will however make the observation that the PE set probably one for PE enthusiasts as it goes quite a way beyond a basic cockpit dress-up. In particular, it allows the modeller to fabricate the split radiator cooling doors that the Bf 109 integrated with its flaps; but this will need some careful folding and use of very small PE parts. I can see some opting to leave well alone here. Other details address the cockpit, brake lines, scissor links, drop-tank strap and filler cap and oil-cooler matrix. The paint mask covers both the standard and later Erla-Haube style canopies.
