Covering a unique set of aircraft, this sheet from Maestro Decals provides decals for three seaplanes used by the Swedish Air Force during World War 2.

The Heinkel 115, Dornier 24 and PBV-1A Catalina are covered on this sheet albeit in their Swedish designations T2, Tp 24 and Tp47 respectively.

The sheet provides enough decals and numerals to build one each of the three aircraft. A table on the instruction sheet provides aircraft numbers for each of the aircraft that served in the SwAF.

The decals themselves are well produced however the thickness of the carrier film is noticeable when running finger across the surface of the decal sheet.

The density of the white and yellow is difficult to gauge which may result with an opacity when applying them to the dark green surface they will sit on. Two versions of the Swedish three crown insignia are supplied. The alternate version without the yellow outer ring is applied for one of the T2/He-115 machines.

Both the Dornier and Heinkel aircraft are painted in a dark green topside and light grey underside while the Catalina is painted in a natural metal finish with bright dayglo orange markings on the floats.

In total sixteen markings are available. Twelve are for the He 115/T 2, a single Do 24/Tp 24 and three PBV-1A/Tp 47. Two copies of each decals sheet are supplied.

Conclusion

Covering subjects that could perhaps be considered as the road less travelled, this sheet from Maestro Decals should be a welcome addition to those that have an interest in war time era Swedish Aircraft and seaplanes. This is a great sheet of some unusual types particularly the Dornier and Heinkel. Recommended.
