Advantages:	Well cast; high levels of detail; clear instructions.
Disadvantages:	Warped M2 Browning barrel.
Conclusion:	These are simple, well detailed sets that deserve to be welcomed by 1/35 modellers. The bent barrel is frustrating but fixable, and the only issue I found with either set. Highly recommended.

According to Eduard’s website, the Brassin range now includes over 4,000 sets for aircraft in the three major scales.

In contrast armour modellers currently only have three Brassin sets from which to choose, all 1/35 guns: the Bren Mk.I, M2 Browning and MG 34. I’ll be looking at the last two of these sets here.

Both fall at the simpler-to-construct end of the Brassin spectrum. Each has one main resin part – the gun body and barrel – to which are added smaller resin and photo-etched details.

Fold out instructions clearly show where these parts go, with the main challenge for most modellers likely being the small size of some of the photo-etched items.

The instructions provide colour call-outs in the form of Gunze Sangyo paint numbers.

The resin parts are well cast, but barrels are a challenge to keep straight in this medium and unfortunately the M2 has developed a distinct bow. I was able to more or less fix this by dipping the barrel in near boiling water and straightening it by hand, unfortunately after I had taken the accompanying photos. However, I suspect it would take quite a bit of fiddling before I had a barrel with which I was completely satisfied.

Both sets are clearly designed to replace kit parts or enhance dioramas. An advantage or disadvantage of each – depending on your perspective – is that Eduard hasn’t included items like mounts, which are left to the modeller to source according to the purpose of each weapon (noting the wide variety of uses for each).

Conclusion

These are simple, well detailed sets that I am sure have been welcomed by 1/35 figure, armour and diorama modellers. The warped Browning barrel is frustrating but fixable, and the only issue I found with either set. Highly recommended, and I hope Eduard adds some new items to this limited range in the near future.
