Eagle Cals has introduced another fine quality decal sheet into their range this time depicting schemes for four De Havilland Mosquitos of the Royal Air Force.

The decals are designed for the new Hong Kong Models 1/32 scale kit.  The decals are superbly printed with good colour saturation and excellent register.  The carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with the EagleCal decals that I have used in the past is that the decals have to be handled carefully and snuggle down into the surface detail well.  The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear.
Markings are provided for four aircraft as follows:

  • De Havilland Mosquito FB.Mk.VI. UX-P HR551 of 82 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in Summer 1945.  The aircraft is finished in High Speed Silver and SEAC Markings.

  • De Havilland Mosquito FB.Mk.VI. SM-W HP913 flown by Pilot Officer T. Wilczewski of 305 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in November 1944.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Medium Sea Grey upper surfaces and Medium Sea Grey under surfaces.  The Spinners are Medium Sea Grey and full fuselage invasion stripes are painted around the rear fuselage.

  • De Havilland Mosquito FB.Mk.VI. SM-C NS927 flown by Pilot Officer J.Wielgosz of 305 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in the fall 1944.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Medium Sea Grey upper surfaces and Medium Sea Grey under surfaces.  The Spinners are Sky and half fuselage invasion stripes are painted on the rear fuselage and the wings have lower surface invasion stripes painted.

  • De Havilland Mosquito FB.Mk.VI. SB-VMM403 of 464 Squadron of the Royal Air Force depicted in the fall 1944.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Ocean Grey upper surfaces and Medium Sea Grey under surfaces.  The Spinners are Ocean Grey and half fuselage invasion stripes are painted on the rear fuselage and the wings have lower surface invasion stripes painted.

The instruction sheet is nicely printed in colour giving good decal placement details.

Highly Recommended
