FirstLook

Airfix has recently released an impressive, all new 1/48 scale Meteor F.8 kit.

Xtradecal has added a number of marking options for modellers buying these kits with three new decal sheets. Tonight we are reviewing the third and final set from this batch, Item No. X48160, "Gloster Meteor F/TT.8 Day Glo Stripes".

This release includes one full decal sheet packed with grouped Day Glo stripes covering several minor variations in application.

Enough stripes are supplied for one full aircraft plus some spares.

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across one folded double-sided A4 sheet. In addition to the four-view general drawings, the instructions include the specific colours and markings of WE876, a Gloster Meteor F(TT).8 of 1574 Flight RAF based at Tengah, Singapore in the late1950s.

This colourful subject features Light Aircraft Grey upper surfaces with Night Black fin and rudder, plus broad black and yellow TT stripes below. Xtradecal has also included the black serial number for the fuselage and lower wings.

Colour notes are supplied, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

The decals are beautifully printed and feature thin carrier film.

This release offers some interesting and colourful options anyone wanting to build a Taregt Tug Meteor.

Highly Recommended.

Thanks to Hannants for the review sample
