Ultracast has recently released eight new wheels sets for 1/48 scale Beaufighters. These offer combinations of smooth, ribbed, Australian "Z" Block and hexagonal tyre treads with spoked or standard hubs.

In summary, they are:

48269 1/48 - Bristol Beaufighter Spoked Wheels (smooth tread & sidewall)

48270 1/48 - Bristol Beaufighter Standard Wheels (smooth tread & sidewall)

48271 1/48 - Bristol Beaufighter Spoked Wheels (smooth tread & ribbed sidewall)

48272 1/48 - Bristol Beaufighter Standard Wheels (smooth tread & ribbed sidewall)

48273 1/48 - Bristol Beaufighter Spoked Wheels (Australia Z block tread)

48274 1/48 - Bristol Beaufighter Standard Wheels (Australia Z block tread)

48275 1/48 - Bristol Beaufighter Spoked Wheels (hexagonal tread) and

48276 1/48 - Bristol Beaufighter Standard Wheels (hexagonal tread).

The tyres are cast in one piece each from cream-coloured resin.

All the tyre sets include two main wheels, and feature beautifully fine detail. They are certainly superior in detail and fidelity than the Tamiya tyres.

Cleanup will be fast and easy.
