FirstLook

French company Djiti’s Production has been producing 1:35 scale figures and accessories for some time. They have now expanded into the area of 1:48 scale figures.

The first batch of four are a nice variety of aviation related subjects.

Casting quality is excellent and parts breakdown is simple, which should make clean-up and assembly fast and easy.

Fabric drape and other textures look great. Some of the facial features are quite prominent, although this might make painting easier in this smaller scale. They are certainly individual.

The first set for review here is Item 48001 – USAAF Pilots. There are two figures.

One appears to be a bomber pilot and the other is a bomber crew member – likely an air gunner. The pilot is cast in a single piece for his body, legs and arms (with hands in his bomber jacket pockets) and a separate head. The air gunner has separate arms and head.

Set No. 48002 is two RAF personnel, one WAAF in skirt and tunic and an officer with side cap.

Assembly couldn’t be much easier with both bodies, legs and arms cast as a single piece with only the heads to be added.

Item No. 48003 might be used to further complement the previous set, being two RAF pilots in cold weather gear.

Both pilots are wearing woollen turtleneck pullovers. One has his flying helmet on and a parachute slung over his shoulder (a single-piece casting), while the second strikes a more casual pose with hands in pocket and bare head (two resin pieces).

The final set, 48004, is a single Luftwaffe fighter pilot climbing from the cockpit of a Messerschmitt Bf 109 or similar.

The uniform looks mid to late war, so this will be a very versatile offering. The head and one hand are cast as separate parts.
