FirstLook

Iliad Design of Canada has released a new decal sheet to suit the 2018-release Roden 1/48 scale Cessna L-19 / O-1 Bird Dog.

Six Bird Dogs are covered on the sheet. They are finished in a nice varied selection of schemes:

  • O-1A Bird Dog of the Kansas Army National Guard, 1968. Overall clean gloss Olive Drab.

  • L-19, Pakistan Army finished in overall weathered Dark Green

  • L-19, South Korean Navy, early 1960s. Finished in overall Light Grey.

  • O-1A, US Army Reserve finished in overall clean gloss Olive Drab.

  • L-19 of 203rd RAC, Hawkeyes, An Khe, South Vietnam, 1968. Finished in overall weathered matte Olive Drab FS 34087.

  • L-19 operated by Japan's Hoantai in overall Yellow wth cherry blossom fuselage markings.

Instructions are offered over a folded A4 sheet in full colour, with side plus upper and lower views plus notes on the camouflage and units.

Decals are printed perfectly on my sample, and colours look good.

Conclusion

These are six interesting subjects for your 1/48 scale Roden Bird Dog.

Thanks to Iliad Design for the review sample.
