 are available online from Squadron.com
Eduard has released a full engine set for its recent Fw 190 A-8/R2 Sturmbock kit. This comes in the form of a self contained "power egg" that will simply attach to the front of your Eduard Wurger. You could even build it as a standalone display piece. Eduard's BRASSIN 1/48 scale Fw 190 A-8/R2 Engine comprises 17 parts in grey resin and one brass plated photo-etched fret. Please note that this set does not incude guns, as the cowl weapons were usually omitted on these heavily armoured aircraft. The engine is beautifully detailed yet broken down as simply as practical.
The two rows of cylinders and the pushrods are cast as a single impressive piece, as is the spider-like inlet manifold. The cowl ring features intricate interior detail too.
The exhaust manifolds are cast as three groups of four, each ending in hollow exhausts. The engine mount is cast as a single delicate piece.
The cowlings feature gorgeous detail inside and out.
One of the photo-etched frets features ignition harness rings.
The package is rounded out with heavily illustrated instructions.                   This is an impressive upgrade for Eduard's new 1/48 scale Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8/R2. Despite the complexity of the Wurger's engine bay and the superb detail present here, Eduard has designed this set to be as simple to build as possible. You will still need some previous experience with resin parts, but this engine set appears to be as buildable as it is impressive. When finished, this will transform the basic kit. Thanks to Eduard for the samples and images.
