Eduard, 1/48 scale
Reviewed by Brett Green
Eduard is expanding their range of decals. This makes sense, as these after market decals will be ideal for Eduard's Overtrees series of kits with plastic parts only at a bargain basement price, or thire Weekend Edition kits.
Of course they will also be suitable for any other kit of the same subject.
Today I am examining Eduard's 1/48 scale filletless P-51D-5 "8th AF" decals.
Eduard's decal set offers five marking options.
These are all finished in variations of natural metal, with some having Olive Drab upper surfaces, some with invasion stripes, and some with striped, chequered, yellow and blue noses.
There is plenty of colour and variety here!
The instructions are supplied on six A5-sized pages in full colour. Each subject is covered in four view illustrations - two sides, top and bottom.
Colour callouts are provided for Gunze acrylics, Mr Color lacquers and Mission Models paints.
The decal sheet is glossy and well printed by Eduard. National markings are included on the sheet. There are three styles - blue and white, the same style with the white subtly greyed out and a third option with light grey star and darker grey bars.
Stencil markings are not included.
This set of decals some colourful options for anyone building Eduard's 1/48 scale P-51D-5 Mustang.
Thanks to Eduard for the sample.
