Morane-Saulnier in the Swiss Air Force

Description

The Morane-Saulnier, together with the Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-3a and the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6, formed the backbone of the Swiss fighter Squadrons, especially during the active Service period 1939-1945.

They were involved in dogfights mainly in the Jura with the German Air Force or served as Escort aircraft for Allied Bombers to Escort them to Dübendorf which flew illegally into Switzerland.

After its Service with the Squadrons, the Morane served for a Long time in Pilot training and as a Target Display aircraft for the anti-aircraft troops.

Most D-3800s served as trainers at the end of the war and were retired in 1959.
