David Doyle Books News #115
We Have a LOT of News This Week!
Dear Friends,
Denise and I pray that all of you are safe from the flooding, fires and heat that so many are facing, and we ask that you join us in praying for the safety of those impacted by these events.
Some folks say some of our newsletters are too long - on weeks like this our other choice is sending 3-4 newsletters in a week , and that just seems excessive to us - so here is a long one! Apologies to those who like it brief.
Right away we want to give a big THANK YOU to all the hosts and volunteers of the IPMS Nationals in Fort Wayne. From our point of view, the show ran like clockwork due to all the hard-working volunteers. We’d also like to thank those of you who dropped by our booth to visit – or to make a purchase. As is so often the case, we just didn’t have time to visit with everyone we wanted to for as long as we would have liked.
We have been VERY busy since we got home, unpacking not only from the show, but also all the new arrivals that turned up while we were away.
We’ll start with the all-new tooling Tamiya RSO in 1/35th scale. A few of you were able to get some that were early released at the show – but if you didn’t make it to the convention, or were too late (they sold out), you can STILL get one before they are released – and for FREE! Our friends at Tamiya have supplied us some examples, and we are giving one away. Enter the drawing HERE to register – no purchase necessary.
For those of you who did get an RSO at the show (or will get one in the future) and would like a reference, we’ll remind you that we still have stock of our Allied-Axis 20 – featuring the RSO.
We are especially pleased to say that our long-awaited M1 and M1A1 Heavy Wrecker book is scheduled for delivery today. Those of you who reserved copies have already been notified (and please use the special link in the notification to claim your copy), but we do have some extras for those of you who may not have known just how badly you wanted this book before. You can get your copy HERE. If you don’t want to take my word about just how great this book is (I MAY be a little biased) – you can check out a review of the book by AMPS right here.
On a related note (especially in view of the European interest in the above title), we believe we have resolved the problems with shipping to the EU (brought on by new regulations) and are once again shipping to those nations.
Many, many more new books have come in:
German Panzers WW2 Early Period 1939-1942: a guide to finishing Tamiya’s models
The massive 432-page DIORAMAS F.A.Q. 1.4
The new Warpaint Special Number 8 – focusing on the B-47 Stratojet
For those who picked up the new The Dragon and His Tail kit at the convention, we have a couple of references – the new Airmark Modellers Airguide #43 on the B-24. We’ve also restocked on Ken’s Men II, featuring Dragon on the cover, and restocked on the rest of the Eagles over the Pacific series.
In addition to the Airguide #43, we have new from Airmark volumes on the A-6 Intruder and MiG-29 Fulcrum.
Also arriving was a new edition of Predators, the history of the “Bäke” heavy Panzer regiment – and we also restocked on many of the other PeKo titles (which are often overlooked – probably because they are a bit hidden on our website).
Speaking of things panzer – it was just over a week ago we got our new German Light Armored Cars and Sd.Kfz. 251 books – we still have a few left. We are sad to note that a number were damaged in shipping to us, and those are offered at a further discount on our “Dented but Still Good” page.
We restocked on the Ginter volume about the Piasecki HRP-1/2- the final volume that Steve Ginter was able to send to the printer before his untimely passing. Unfortunately, a number of these books were damaged in shipping – and those we are offering at a discount on this page.
Also arriving were the latest Wingspan, plus new issues of Phoenix Aviation Modelling International, Tamiya Model Magazine, and Model Military International.
We also restocked a number of our Casemate, Legends of Warfare, and Squadron titles.
Denise and I remain blessed to have your ongoing support.
Sincerely,
David and Denise Doyle
