The engine starter hand crank was made from syringe tubing.
The wing 20mm machine guns were fashioned from piano wire but were not drilled out.
Instead the desert setting allowed the covering of the machine gun openings with anti-spoiling caps.
These prevented desert sand from entering the gun mechanisms during take-off or sand storms.
On the model they were painted on. I am not sure of the proper color so they were painted RLM grey.
I saw how Mr Francois Verlinden beautifully weathered some of his model aircraft propellers in his
numerous publications. His treatment was applied to this model.
The drop tank was finished in a typically dirty fuel and oil-stained appearance.
