Dornier Do 217

Revell/Monogram's 1/48 scale Dornier Do 217 is available online at Squadron.com

Introduction

Andrea Duda is building Revell/Monogram's 1/48 scale Dornier Do 217. He warns that it is not an easy project!

The yellow pieces in the photos are customised resin parts to improve and correct the kit.

Andreas' progress is summarised in the photos and captions below.

New BMW 801-engines (sourced from the very good Dragon-parts), the reworked cooling-air-fan from the kit, the new propeller-hub (also sourced from Dragon) and the scratch-built propeller-blades.
The new "power egg" assembled and in place
Construction of the reworked outer wing: The kit outer-wings and the worked-out ailerons were replaced with new resin parts.
The new aileron. Oops -  I need something else to hold the wing tip . . .

Brake covers.
The main wheels are too narrow. A 0,75 mm plastic-disc had to be added.
Slow progress
The nice cockpit is complete (except the correct joy-stick for the Hs 293 on the right-hand side). The harness is the etched item from the Eduard set for German bombers.
