 Hasegawa's 1/48 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 is available online from Squadron.com

 

Introduction

 

Here is my Hasegawa Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10, converted to a Bf 109G-14/AS in1/48 scale.

The markings represent the aircraft of Leutnant Richard Franz, Staffelkapitaen of 7./JG-11.

 

 

Construction and Modifications



Modifications made to the kit include:

  • Details in the wheel wells, a new battery box, canopy retention and release mechanisms, drop tank rack details, brake lines, and retainer cuffs were added from scratch.

  • Kendall cockpit set, exhaust stacks, and elevators added.

 

 

  • Airwaves P/E set for rudder pedals and radiator screens.

  • Filled and rescribed the oil filler and cold weather start device hatches in positions for G-6/14.

  • Repositioned ailerons.

  • Opened up cowl scoops.

  • True Details wheels used.

  • P/E metal loop and stick antennae from spares box.

  • Fuel line sight glass made from Micro Krystal Klear.

  • Drilled out gun and cannon barrels

  • "Oberhubatz" was hand rendered.

 

 

Decals were sourced from Microscale, Aeromaster, and the Eagle Editions 'Eagle Cals' line.
