Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IXc

Hasegawa's 1/48 scale Spitfire IX is available online from Squadron.com

Introduction

Here is Hasegawa's 1/48 scale Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX. The model represents Spitfire Mk. IX c flown by F/O Garwood from the RCAF which crashed in Normandy on the 11 June 1944 due to and engine failure.

The kit is built out of the box except for the addition of Ultracast resin exhaust pipes and PE harness form MDC. The model was a pleasure and really relaxing to build.

The decals are from Aeromaster and Watermark, while the paints are Gunze. The camouflage pattern has been painted freehand. The invasion stripes are painted too.
