Avon Sabre

Here is Red Roo Models Avon Sabre conversion in 1/48

The base kit used is Academy's F-86F.

The cockpit was enhanced with the Aires F-86F cockpit set. The only problem mating this set with the Red Roo conversion, was the tub fit. As the conversion is limited run it’s quite thick and the walls of the Aries tub are quite large - major surgery is required.

I chose to use the kit tub and add some of the detail from the Aires set after cutting it off.

The kit is finished in Humrol enamels, and Tamiya clear gloss.
