Description

Here is Contrail's 1/48 scale Beaufort Mk. I converted to an Australian Department of Aircraft Production (DAP) Beaufort Mk. VIII.

I had to rework the engines and the shape of the nacelles, the undercarriage, broaden the chord of the fin, add radar aerials to the rear fuselage and take care of many other items peculiar to Aussie Beauforts.

Paints used were Gunze RAF Dark Green, Dark Earth and a lightened shade of Sky.

Decals came from Superscale for the code letters, Tasman for the roundels and serials. The nose art was painted directly onto the model using a photo of the actual aircraft as reference.
