Vought F4U-1A Corsair

Tamiya's 1/48 scale F4U-1A Corsair is available online from Squadron.com

This Corsair is Tamiya's 1/48th scale version straight from the box. I used Gunze H54 and H56 for the upper surfaces and Tamiya Flat White for the underside. The heavily weathered look was created with oil washes. I lightened some of the upper panels with Gunze Gray to simulate the fading.

My vision was a South Pacific scene so I needed some palm trees. Verlinden makes some expensive but fantastic replicas fashioned in resin and brass. The crew was Verlinden as well. The celluclay base is covered with sand and dirt while the foliage is sawdust.

I'd like to thank everyone who participates in Hyperscale. You guys have been extremely helpful. This is my first modeling effort after reading, learning, and buying the items suggested on this site. Thanks again.
