Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9

Tamiya's 1/48 scale Fw 190D-9 is available online from Squadron.com

Description

It is believed that this is the final Dora used by Josef " Pips" Priller. The original fighter is known as "White 14", captured by American forces.

All national and personal emblems were overpainted in white. But under this white paint you can see the older black colour. The number and the horizontal bars in black are typical for the "Stabsschwarm JG 26".

The overpainted area below the cockpit could be Priller´s personal insignia "Jutta", although this is not known for certain.

The kit is Tamiya's 1/48 scale Fw 190D-9 and decals are from Eagle Cals. The only additions to this straight out of the box kit are the weapons, made from brass tubes and German Fighter Seatbelts from Eduard.
