Description

The Fairey Gannet - the ugliest thing in the air! This is the excellent 1/48 scale vacform kit.

The overall quality of the kit parts is very good although the white metal components need careful cleaning.

The history of the aircraft can be found on the net. I used good pictures from http://www.faasig.org/tech/gannet.htm and http://www.enygmag.freeserve.co.uk/gannet.htm

The construction of the model is pretty straightforward. Most of my time was spent cleaning the parts and adding details such as interior, panel lines and rivets.

The model was built for a friend and, per his requests, I did not depict the wings folded.
