P-51B Mustang

by Christian Bruer

North American P-51B Mustang

Tamiya's 1/48 scale P-51B is available online from Squadron.com

Introduction

Here is my 1/48 scale P-51B "Shangri-La" as flown by Cpt. Don Gentile in early 1944.

The model is the from Tamiya. It is easy to build and wonderful in detail. I addeda resin cockpit from Hi-Tech and new wheels from True Details. The rest is straight from the box.

The finish is airbrushed with colors from Xtracolor, but the decals are out of the box (a little thick but still okay).

After a coat of varnish I started weathering the panel lines with watercolors.
