Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden

Hasegawa's 1/48 scale Raiden is available online from Squadron.com

The kit is the 1/48 Hasegawa kit of the Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden in the Aeromaster's markings of the 302 NAG. 

The kit is built straight from the box with the exception of the seatbelts. The kit canopy was also cut away to show off the interior. 

It was painted with ModelMaster paints and weathered with a water color wash and pastels. The chipping was achieved by first painting the aircraft in a natural metal finish and then applying a liquid mask in select places. Once the color coat was on the masking was removed using an abrasive toothpaste on a well worn brush. This revealed the NMF underneath. 

I was going for a well worn look!
