Description

This is Eduard's 1/48 scale Siemens Shuckert D.III, their first short run injection kit released back in early 1990s.

The plastic parts displays heavy flash and all the interior is done by photo-etched parts. The kit requires tremendous cleaning, trimming and dry fitting during construction. This is especially true with the cockpit to fuselage assembly and engine nacelle framing.

All the struts (V shaped and N shaped ones) should also be thoroughly dry fitted before glue in place to avoid a warped wing (the upper wing should be completely flat, totally free of dihedral).

Some five or six decal options were supplied with the kit and I finally opted to build it as Ernst Udet's mount.
