Description

This is the old Hobbycraft 1/48 scale F-94B Starfire.

Although a little lacking in detail, this is a really nice kit in my opinion. For the necessary update work I decided to plunder my old Monogram F-80 Shooting Star from which I took the flaps, flap-interior, airbrakes, landing gear and the entire opened gun bay area.

The level of detail in this areas of the Monogram kit was quite good. After carefully cutting out these components they fit surprisingly well into the Hobbycraft fuselage and wings. It is necessary to modify the opened gun bay because the F-94 had only four guns instead of the six guns in the F-80.

I used KMC's T-33 control surfaces and air intakes on my Starfire.

The cockpit was updated with Reheat's cockpit PE set plus True Detail's ejection Seats. The Markings are from Expert's Choice and the natural metal finish was carried out using various shades of Testors Metallizer. At least I used the very nice little KMC EPU-tractor for my small display.
