Messerschmitt Bf 108B

Eduard's 1/48 scale Messerschmitt Bf 108B is available online from Squadron

Description

Here are photos of Eduard's 1/48 scale Messerschmitt Bf 108B finished in the African scheme pictured on the box art of the kit.

My only additions to the box components were Eduard PE seatbelts and CMK wingtip navigation lights.

Photo references of this aircraft indicate that the subject had non-skid wingwalks which are not noted in Eduard's instruction sheet. After measuring the approximate length and width, I shot RLM 66 on aluminum decal stock, then applied the decals in the appropriate areas. When dry, I lightly sanded the surface of the wingwalks to expose the aluminum underneath.

Brett Green has written an informative construction article for this kit offering several alternative steps in the assembly sequence. I would suggest following these steps to the letter to avoid some of the issues I faced as a result of trying to figure it myself

Despite the few challenges in assembling the kit, Eduard's Bf 108 is a beauty. I would hope that alternative aftermarket decals will follow shortly.
