Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6

Hasegawa's 1/32 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 is available online from Squadron.com

Introduction

This is Hasegawa's 1/32 Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 in the markings of Major Ludwig Franzisket, Gruppenkommandeur I/JG27.

Parts from the Cutting Edge detailing set were used as well as True Details wheels. Seat belts came from the Eduard interior set for the Revell kit. The cannon barrels are brass tube which looks so much better than any attempt to reproduce them in resin and the D/F loop was a strip cut from brass sheet and attached to the base from the kit.

The paint finish is Gunze Sangyo RLM 74/75 over Model Master 76.

Markings are a mix of Eduard 1/32 National Insignia masks and Superscale 1/32 109G-K stencils. The chevrons were done with a mask made from Frisket film and the I/JG27 emblem is from Mike Grant. The Gruppe emblem actually depicts the early version but it is as close as I could get in this scale.

Hasegawa's Gustav was a great kit to build and I dearly hope this heralds a full line of F and G versions!
