F-104C

Hasegawa's 1/48 scale F-104C is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Here is my 1/48 Hasegawa F-104C Starfighter.

The kit was built almost out of the box, with the exception of a few photo-etch parts in the cockpit, Greif lenses, and decals from the kit and various Superscale sheets.

The kit was built in about a week and a half back in July of 2000. I painted it using Model Master Enamels and Metalizers, with PollyS clear coats. Instead of drilling holes in the fuselage to install the lights, I simply added Greif lenses. These are similar to MV lenses, but a little more expensive.

The seatbelts, canopy sill detail and a few small cockpit details were taken from the Eduard PE set designed for the Monogram F-104.

This kit was a joy to build and the fit was excellent throughout.
