Description

If you saw my last submission you’ll recognize this beauty. It is Hasegawa’s 1/48 scale F-14B Bombcat.

I detailed the kit using Eduards F-14A photo-etch set, True Detail seats, Hasegawa weapons, and copper wire. The BOL’s and the bomb racks were scratch built. I used the upper half of a set of Monogram wing glove pylons. It was easier to convert Monograms Sidewinder rails than Hasegawas.

The lower halves of the pylons are modified Hasegawa Phoenix pylons.

The aircraft was painted with Model Master paints. It was weathered with an enamel wash.

The decals are from Aeromasters Anytime Babe part 4.

This model won first place in the Aircraft Jet-Fighter/Recon 1/48 category at the South Carolina Modeler’s Association Charleston Model Contest in 2001.

I hope you enjoy the article.
