Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat

 Tamiya's 1/48 F4F-4 Wildcat is available online from Squadron.com

Here is Tamiya's 1/48 scale Wildcat. This is a nicely engineered kit, nevertheless, I decided to add a few after market parts.

Completely hidden behind the cowl is the Aires engine back which includes some nice intercoolers, carb, etc. Also, I added the Aires firewall and the top half of the landing gear from Aires and the resin/photoetch cockpit. The cockpit set is nice, but a chore to fit, and line up with the ventral window and resin bulkhead. I chose to leave out the other resin parts (the gun bay, wing fold and raft). The tires are from True Details
