Tamiya's 1/48 scale Rex is available online at Squadron

Here is my 1/48 scale Tamiya Kawanishi N1K1 Kyofu Type 11 (Rex).

The plane is depicted on a shallow cement landing ramp with scale lowering ties and guide cleats.

The water is acrylic resin poured in about 6 layers and detailed with scale seaweed and kelp. The cement mooring ramp was first poured in plaster and then shaped and sanded. The section of supply dock was built from scratch by building the structure with basswood scale lumber.

The antenna wire had not yet been installed when these photos were taken.

The kit is great and there were no significant fit problems. The only added aftermarket to this plane is a resin replacement seat, otherwise it is built straight from the box.

The photos were taken with a Olympus D-460 Zoom at 1.3 megapixels. I used my balanced light that is normally used for my illustration. It takes the yellow hues out of the shots and give a pretty true color to the photos.
