North American SNJ-4

North American SNJ-4 "Texan"

HyperScale is proudly suported by Squadron.com

Originally released years ago, Monogram's 1/48 scale AT-6 "Texan" still stands as an accurate representation of this classic airframe. Although long out of production, the kit can be found buried in vendor tables at kit swaps and model contests. I recently acquired this kit for under $10 and decided to build it immediately.

Rather than build the kit in the common aluminum finish, I chose to model a U.S. Navy SNJ-4 stationed at NAS Alameda, California Naval Air Station during October 1943. Decals Carpena provided the markings needed for this subject.
